If you have an interest in local history, plan to join us for this week-long exploration of the Little Bonnechere River’s natural and cultural heritage as told through the science of archaeology. Co-hosted by members of the Ontario Archaeological Society – Ottawa Chapter, programming will include demonstrations, exhibits and talks based on the historic archaeological excavations that have been conducted along the Little Bonnechere over the past quarter century.

Sunday July 9
Meet at the Davenport Centre in the morning to ask archaeologists the hard questions – Who, What, When, Where and Why. See a dig site being set up and check out some posters and artifacts.

Monday July 10
Join the field team in the morning and see a dig site in real time!

Tuesday July 11
Meet at the Davenport Centre in the morning for a dig demonstration and a chance to talk with archaeologists. You can also take a tour of the Lafleur Homestead to learn about the people who lived there on the River. Meet at the Homestead at 10 am for the tour.

Wednesday July 12
Pre-registration Required
Join archaeologist Courtney Cameron at the Davenport Centre at 10 am for a hands-on archaeo-experience designed for youth ages 8 to 12 years. Plus displays, activities and artifacts for all visitors.

Thursday July 13
Join the Friends of Bonnechere Parks at the Davenport Centre in the morning as they share their stories and how they make your time at Bonnechere very special. Gather at the Davenport Centre in the evening to mix and mingle with Archaeologists, Park Staff, and Friends.
