Basin Depot 1999-2000 - Cutlery
This inexpensive cutlery includes a one-piece solid handle fork and pieces of several three-tined iron forks. A plain tin spoon is represented by separate handle and bowl fragments. The other spoon is a forged steel example of the tipped pattern that would have been plated for rust resistance.

Iron-handled cutlery of this type was quite popular as it was the least expensive and was available through all the mail-order houses of the day. Three-tined forks were quickly replaced by those with four just after the turn of the 20th Century, as part of the evolution of everyday items.
