Best of Bonnechere - Insulators
These two types of insulators each have their own stories. The porcelain samples feature rust marks left by the wire of the bush telephone line that kept Basin Depot in contact with the outside world.
The glass insulators feature a manufacturers name and model number. These Dominion Model 16 insulators were produced between 1927 and 1959. The smooth bases indicate that they were made toward the later end of that range. Insulators such as these are still in use on some rural lines.
