1986: Keeping It Wild

The Ontario government officially established Bonnechere River Provincial Park in 1986. The Bonnechere's shoreline and its fish and wildlife habitats are now protected and the river is off-limits to dams. This ensures that the river will remain in its natural state and continue to provide an unsurpassed nature experience to those who enjoy travelling its waters.
