20 000 BCE: Pulverized Prehistory
Tundra vegetation and cold-adapted animal species including bison and caribou rapidly colonized new lands released by the retreating ice front. Although evidence is currently lacking, it is likely that these animals found suitable habitats in the Ottawa Valley.
