Basin Depot 1999-2000 - Slate
This flat thin square-edged slate fragment comes from a child's writing tablet. The carefully trimmed edges were fitted into a wooden frame. Students wrote on these with a slate pencil or piece of chalk, enabling them to do copy work, erase and start over - again and again.
