Egan Farm - Household
Whole and fragmented tin shanty plates are all that remain of the surfaces that were repeatedly piled high with beans, salt pork, bread and potatoes, no doubt served by spoon from heavy iron pots.
This was the diet of the fourteen men who worked this farm, and grew carrots and perhaps other garden vegetables that they stored in nearby root cellars. The fragments of glass suggest windows helped to light the building interiors.
