A bent "gold-plated" lady's ring with monogrammed initials "I L" engraved in text hand or italic writing. Appears to be gold-plated over a copper alloy (probably brass). This ring may be directly attributable to one of the Lafleur site inhabitants, Isabella Lafleur.
Crucifix
Collection: Lafleur House and Summer Kitchen
Object: Crucifix
Material: Iron
Period: Early 20th Century
A small iron religious crucifix, about 2.5 cm long. Followers of the Catholic faith often wore a crucifix on a fine neck chain or pinned to undergarments as a sign of their belief. Parish records show that the Lafleurs were members of St. Casmir's Roman Catholic Church at Round Lake.
Heart-shaped Tobacco Tag
Collection: Lafleur House and Summer Kitchen
Object: Tobacco Tag
Material: Ferrous
Period: Late 19th Century - Early 20th Century
Date: 1877 to 1922
These tin hearts are most properly termed tobacco tags and were affixed to packets of plug tobacco as part of the closure or seal. The heart-shaped motifs are attributable to the W. C. MacDonald Company and were produced from 1877 through 1922. They often surface on sites of this era. It is apparent they were treated as premiums and prized collectibles.
