Sometimes archaeologists recover artifacts that are not easily interpretable, bits and pieces that are beyond their grasp to identify which simply stump them. All of the items pictured here fall into that category.
For instance, the band of stamped brass likely served a decorative function on a piece of furniture or a household accessory. While theories may abound, sometimes the mystery remains.
