1600: Prime Shoreline Property

Private ownership of land was unknown among Aboriginal peoples until the Europeans arrived. However archaeological evidence at Round Lake, the Lafleur homestead and elsewhere indicates that shoreline real estate was still prized. Flat sandy riverbanks, long used by Aboriginal groups as campsites, are now poised to become prime shoreline property.
